Curly Horley banned

There was a national outcry when the Education (Governance) Act 1965 banned the use of the Curly Horley in state schools in England and Wales. In an open letter to The Times, leading teachers and educationalists condemned the measure, describing it as ‘a death warrant for education, discipline and civilised society’.
